On January 11, 2012, Merv accompanied and sang a duet with Dolly Parton on The Late Show With David Letterman in a performance promoting the feature film Joyful Noise, starring Dolly and Queen Latifah. Merv wrote the orchestral score for Joyful Noise and arranged and produced all of the film’s songs (with the exception of the Kirk Franklin song). (Merv also wrote an original song for the film, entitled “I’m Yours.”) On The Late Show, Dolly and Merv performed “From Here To The Moon And Back,” one of three songs that Dolly wrote for the film.
